Carpooling Soccer Moms: Beating the Gas Crunch Together

With the recent energy crunch, a lot of soccer moms are turning to carpooling to help save money and to be environmentally friendly. By going green, moms not only save money but they help the environment through reduced carbon monoxide emissions and the reduced usage of gasoline and oil products.

With gas being in an all-time high, it is prudent for these local to get together and place two, three and maybe for kids in one minivan to get them to the soccer game. If you are a soccer mom or a soccer dad and you have a child that goes to practice or to a game at least four to five days week, you could be spending tons of money transporting them back and forth from home to the playing field.

You want to be a supportive parent and to be there all the time, but it might be prudent to have your child and yourself trading places with other parents so they can drive you or to the soccer field and you can trade reciprocally. If you do not have a car pooling system set up with the parents of your child's team, next time you go to a game or to a practice take a flier asking them to sign up. Most people will jump at the chance to save a few dollars and since soccer moms are synonymous with mini-vans, they will have plenty of room. Another benefit of having another parent drive your child, is that you can have some personal time and get some extra household duties done.
