De-Super Sizing Soccer Snacks

Many health officials feel that the amount of snacks given at soccer games have reached epidemic proportions. Even though some snacks are healthy, children are gorging themselves with calories right after exercising. It is like they are being rewarded for exercising. Not only does this set up a psychological need to be fed after rigorous exercise, it also wrecks whatever good the exercise did.

By pouring so many sweets, carbohydrates, and other unhealthy things in the child’s body, the body starts to feed on the foods and not the fat. This could make for some pretty chunky soccer players. All soccer moms should not only watch what they are serving kids but how much. Super sized snacks can destroy any healthy result of diet and exercise.

Most parents want to be super mom or super dad and bring the foods that make them popular and well liked amongst the soccer players. Being cool is being a fool when you are dealing with a child’s health. If you bring snacks, monitor who is eating them and how much. You might want to ration the snacks out in small portions so that kids will not try to eat all the good stuff and leave the healthy food alone. By rationing, the child can have his treats, but if rationed right, they will still be hungry for the healthy food. Just a little forethought and proper food managing will give the kids what they expect and at the same time give you the knowledge that your kid is eating right no matter if you are there are not.
